DEWEES, Percival P., a Representative from Huntingdon County; born, March 9, 1818 in Trappe, Montgomery County, Pa.; manager, Paradise Furnace (1843-1847, 1863-1866); superintendent, Aetna Furnace Company (1847-1849); engaged, nail business (1849-1863); school director, Norristown, Montgomery County; proprietor, Rockhill Furnace (1867-1873); proprietor, Rockhill Iron and Coal Company (1873-1893); school director, Huntingdon County; elected to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives as a Republican in 1876; member, Select Committee to Investigate the Pittsburg Riots (1878); not a candidate for reelection to the House (1878); dry goods merchant; died, March 29, 1893 in Rockhill, Huntingdon County, Pennsylvania; interred, Augustus Lutheran Church Cemetery, Trappe, Montgomery County, Pennsylvania.
