UNDERWOOD, Nelson Fay, a Representative from Wayne County; born, September 8, 1830 in Oxford, Worcester County, Ma.; attended, Franklin Academy; teacher; farmer; engaged, lumbering; elected as a Republican to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives in 1878; unsuccessful campaign for reelection to the House (1880); elected, justice of the peace; appointed, member, State Board of Agriculture (1879-1895); reelected as a Republican to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives in 1894 and 1896; not a candidate for reelection to the House (1898); died, March 14, 1914 in Bloomfield, Essex County, New Jersey; interred, Riverview Cemetery, Hancock, Delaware County, New York.
