PALSGROVE, Charles Bowen, a Representative from Schuylkill County; born, September 6, 1846 in Schuylkill Haven, Schuylkill County, Pa.; attended, Keystone State Normal School (now Kutztown University of Pennsylvania); graduated, Quaker Business College; private, Company I, 39th Regiment, Pennsylvania Emergency Militia (1863, Civil War); cigar manufacturer; elected as a Democrat to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives in 1878; not a candidate for reelection to the House (1880); farmer; proprietor, Palsgrove’s Tobacco Store; appointed, member and mediator, Pennsylvania Miners and Railroaders Committee (1887-1888); died, July 4, 1934 in Schuylkill Haven, Schuylkill County, Pennsylvania; interred, Union Cemetery, Schuylkill Haven, Schuylkill County, Pennsylvania.
