NOBLE, Joseph Elliott, a Representative from Bedford County; born, November 27, 1846 in the borough of Bedford, Bedford County, Pa.; attended, Mercersburg College; attended, Eastman’s Business College; proprietor, Waterside Woolen Factory; school director, South Woodbury Township (1872); elected, justice of the peace (1877-1879); elected as a Democrat to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 1879 term; not a candidate for reelection to the House (1880); proprietor, Woolen Mill, Nashua, Ia.; elected, register and recorder, Chickasaw County, Ia. (1888-1892); magistrate, Chickasaw County, Ia.; died, June 14, 1924 in New Hampton, Chickasaw County, Iowa; interred, New Hampton Cemetery, New Hampton, Chickasaw County, Iowa.
