NICHOLS, Asa, a Representative from Bradford County; born, April 30, 1828 in Pike Township, Bradford County, Pa.; tanner and currier; elected, messenger, Pennsylvania House of Representatives (1865); harness maker; unsuccessful campaign, Pennsylvania House of Representatives (1876); elected as a Republican to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives in 1878; unsuccessful campaign for reelection to the House (1880); died, August 24, 1895 in LeRayesville, Bradford County, Pennsylvania; interred, East Herrick Cemetery, East Herrick, Bradford County, Pennsylvania.
