MORRIS, John Cox, a Representative from Susquehanna County; born, February 11, 1822 in Morris, Otsego County, NY; captain, Company H, 143rd Regiment, Pennsylvania Volunteer Infantry (1862-1864, Civil War); farmer; member, Pennsylvania Board of Agriculture; elected as a National Greenback to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives in 1878; not a candidate for reelection to the House (1880); president, State Agricultural Society (1870, 1871, 1882); died, May 26, 1882 in Friendsville, Susquehanna County, Pennsylvania; interred, Quaker Churchyard, Friendsville, Susquehanna County, Pennsylvania.
