McCONNELL, James Wallace, a Representative from Mercer County; born, November 21, 1825 in Hopewell Township, Beaver County, Pa.; farmer; justice of the peace, French Creek Township, Mercer County, Pa. (10 years); elected, delegate, Mercer County Republican Convention (1874); unsuccessful campaign, Pennsylvania House of Representatives (1876); director, Bank of Cochranton, Crawford County (1877-1889); elected as a Republican to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives to serve the 1879 term; not a candidate for reelection to the House for the 1881 term; died, July 21, 1889 in French Creek Township, Crawford County, Pennsylvania; interred, Milledgeville, New Lebanon, Mercer County, Pennsylvania.
