MAGILL, William H., a Representative from Allegheny County; born in West Deer, Allegheny County, Pa., April 29, 1841; sergeant, Company E, 63rd Regiment, Pennsylvania Volunteer Infantry (1861-1864, Civil War); farmer; auditor, Allegheny County; Assistant United States Marshal (1870); elected to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives as a Republican in 1876, 1877 and 1878; not a candidate for reelection to the House (1880); justice of the peace, West Deer, Allegheny County; died, June 14, 1916 in O’Hara Township, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania; interred, East Union Church Cemetery, Cheswick, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania.
