HUMPHREY, James, a Representative from Butler County; born, June 16, 1829 in Worth Township, Butler County, Pa.; tradesman, carpenter; contractor; farmer; elected as a Democrat to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 1879 term; unsuccessful campaign for reelection to the House (1880); president, Worth Mutual Fire Insurance Company of Butler; died, February 9, 1907 in Worth Township, Butler County, Pennsylvania; interred, South Plain Grove Cemetery, Plain Grove, Lawrence County, Pennsylvania.
