CAUGHEY, John, a Representative from Beaver County; born, July 5, 1812 in Hanover Township, Beaver County, Pa.; teacher; engaged, merchandising; justice of the peace; elected, treasurer, Beaver County (1864-1865); clerk to the commissioners, Beaver County (1866-1867); elected, prothonotary, Beaver County (1868-1873); elected as a Republican to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 1877 and 1879 terms; not a candidate for reelection to the House (1880); died, June 23, 1897 in Beaver, Beaver County, Pennsylvania; interred, Beaver Cemetery and Mausoleum, Beaver, Beaver County, Pennsylvania.
