BROOKS, John, a Representative from Cameron County; born, June 17, 1814 in Lock Haven, Clinton County, Pa.; land surveyor; engaged, lumber business; engaged, real estate business; elected, commissioner, Elk County (1843-1847); elected as a Republican to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 1877 and 1879 terms; not a candidate for reelection to the House (1880); died, March 26, 1893 in Pennsylvania; interred, Brooks Cemetery, Sinnemahoning, Cameron County, Pennsylvania.
