TOWN, Samuel P., a Representative from Philadelphia County; born, February 24, 1846 in Philadelphia, Philadelphia County, Pa.; graduated, Saint Joseph’s College (now Saint Joseph’s University), 1862; private, Company L, 181st Regiment, 20th Pennsylvania Cavalry (1864-1864, Civil War); printer; elected, select council, Philadelphia; elected, school director, Philadelphia; elected as a Republican to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 1881 term; not a candidate for reelection to the House for the 1883 term; died, July 9, 1937 in Philadelphia, Philadelphia County, Pennsylvania; interred, Charles Evans Cemetery, Reading, Berks County, Pennsylvania.
