PORT, Alexander, a Representative from Huntingdon County; born, January 1, 1818 in McConnelstown, Huntingdon County, Pa.; carpenter; coal operator; constable and deputy sheriff, city of Huntingdon; elected, school director and justice of the peace, Huntingdon; elected, city council, Huntingdon; elected to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives as a Republican in 1876 and 1880; not a candidate for reelection to the House (1877, 1882); manager and trustee, Huntingdon Reformatory; died, December 22, 1906 in Huntingdon, Huntingdon County, Pennsylvania; interred, Riverview Cemetery, Huntingdon, Huntingdon County, Pennsylvania.
