LOVELAND, Solomon Malachi, a Representative from Mercer County; born, April 11, 1828 in East Springfield, Erie County, Pa; private, Company C, 55th Regiment, Pennsylvania Emergency Militia (1863, Civil War); farmer; elected, school director, Mercer County; elected, justice of the peace; elected, burgess, Fredonia; elected as a Republican to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives in 1880; not a candidate for reelection to the House (1882); died while in office, November 9, 1881 in Fredonia, Mercer County, Pennsylvania; interred, Millbank Cemetery, Fredonia, Mercer County, Pennsylvania.
