HUNGERFORD, Charles A., a Representative from Susquehanna County; born, December 25, 1840 in Springville, Susquehanna County, Pa.; quartermaster sergeant, Company E, 92nd Regiment, 9th Pennsylvania Cavalry (1862-1865, Civil War); carpenter; teacher; engaged, mercantile business; postmaster, United States Postal Service, Springville (1874-1880); elected as a Republican to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives in 1880; not a candidate for reelection to the House (1882); died, December 16, 1914 in Dalton, Lackawanna County, Pennsylvania; interred, Sunnyside Cemetery, Tunkhannock, Wyoming County, Pennsylvania.
