HOYER, Isaac, a Representative from Montgomery County; born, July 5, 1840 in Berks County, Pa.; musician, Regimental Band, 46th Regiment, Pennsylvania Volunteer Infantry (1861-1862, Civil War); nail maker, E & G Brooke, Birdsboro (1854-1866); nail maker and foreman, Pottstown Iron Works (1866-1884); elected, council, Pottstown (1872-1873); elected, burgess, Pottstown (1874-1875); director, Pottstown band; elected to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives as a Republican in 1878 and 1880; not a candidate for reelection to the House (1882); died, November 4, 1901 in Pottstown, Montgomery County, Pennsylvania; interred, Edgewood Cemetery, Pottstown, Montgomery County, Pennsylvania.
