BRANT, Matthias, a Representative from Greene County; born, December 29, 1828 in Wayne Township, Greene County, Pa.; attended, Waynesburg College; teacher (16 years); elected, school director (9 years); farmer; elected as a Democrat to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 1879 and 1881 terms; not a candidate for reelection to the House for the 1883 term; elected, Pennsylvania State Senate (1891-1895); died, August 11, 1911 in Waynesburg, Greene County, Pennsylvania; interred, Saint Ann Cemetery, Waynesburg, Greene County, Pennsylvania.
