BOLAND, John, a Representative from Schuylkill County; born, June 24, 1840 in Waterford, County Waterford, Munster, Ireland; engaged, printing business; elected as a Democrat to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives in 1880; unsuccessful campaign for reelection to the House (1882); appointed, sergeant-at-arms, Pennsylvania House of Representatives (1883-1884); reporter, Pottsville Daily Republican; school director, Mt. Carbon, Pa.; died, March 29, 1900 in Mount Carbon, Schuylkill County, Pennsylvania; interred, Saint Patrick’s Roman Catholic Church Cemetery No. 3, Pottsville, Schuylkill County, Pennsylvania.
