BELL, Dr. Sylvester D., a Representative from Butler County; born, June 30, 1847 in Perry Township, Armstrong County, Pa.; attended, Sunbury Academy and Witherspoon Institute; M.D., Western Reserve College (now Case Western Reserve University), 1874; physician; chair, Butler County Republican Committee; elected as a Republican to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 1881 term; not a candidate for reelection to the House (1882); died, January 14, 1902 in Tucson, Pima County, Arizona; interred, Hemphill Cemetery, Chicora, Butler County, Pennsylvania.
