BALDWIN, Samuel R., a Representative from Allegheny County; born in Pittsburgh, Allegheny County, Pa., December 20, 1841; private, Company E, 63rd Regiment, Pennsylvania Volunteer Infantry (1861-1862, Civil War); Iron molder (1857-1926); manager & owner, Baldwin & Graham stove foundry (1872-1899); elected as a Republican to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 1879 and 1881 terms; not a candidate for reelection to the House for the 1883 term; elected, council, New Castle (4 years); superintendent and owner, Stove and Range Company of Pittsburgh (1899-1926); died, June 13, 1926, in New Castle, Lawrence County, Pennsylvania; interred, Oak Park Cemetery, New Castle, Lawrence County, Pennsylvania.
