YERKES, Stephen Decatur, a Representative from Montgomery County; born, December 25, 1849 in Hatboro, Montgomery County, Pa.; attended, Loller Hall Academy, Hatboro; merchant; elected to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives as a Democrat in 1882; not a candidate for reelection to the House (1884); farmer; special officer, Philadelphia and Reading Railroad Company; died, July 23, 1915 in Morris Plains, Morris County, New Jersey; interred, Hatboro Cemetery, Hatboro, Montgomery County, Pennsylvania.
