TUBBS, Charles, a Representative from Tioga County; born in Osceola Township, Tioga County, Pa., July 11, 1843; graduated, Union College, NY, 1864; graduated, University of Michigan law department, 1867; school teacher; lawyer, farmer; transcribing clerk, Pennsylvania House of Representatives (1869-1870); clerk, Osceola Township (8 years); elected as a Republican to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives to the 1881 and 1883 terms; not a candidate for reelection to the House (1884); unsuccessful campaign, United States Senate (1899); appointed, Advisory Commission for the Preservation of the Public Records of Pennsylvania (1907); died, January 26, 1913 in Buffalo, Erie County, New York; interred, Fairview Cemetery, Osceola Township, Tioga County, Pennsylvania.
