THOMPSON, Alexander R., a Representative from Beaver County; born, February 29, 1820 in Beaver County, Pa.; attended, Jefferson College (now Washington & Jefferson College); physician; lawyer; farmer; elected, prothonotary, Beaver County (1854-1855); school director, Beaver County (15 years); elected as a Democrat to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 1883 term; not a candidate for reelection to the House (1884); died, April 26, 1905 in Independence Township, Beaver County, Pennsylvania.
