STEES, Frederick Edward, a Representative from Schuylkill County; born, September 27, 1841 in Pine Grove, Schuylkill County, Pa.; private, Company B, 96th Regiment, Pennsylvania Volunteer Infantry (1861-1862, Civil War); engaged, mercantile business; elected as a Republican to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives in 1880 and 1882; not a candidate for reelection to the House (1884); appointed, inspector, United States Treasury Department, Philadelphia Mint; died, April 19, 1905 in Philadelphia, Philadelphia County, Pennsylvania; interred, Saint John’s Lutheran Cemetery, Pine Grove, Schuylkill County, Pennsylvania.
