SHAFER, Joseph Mason, a Representative from Cameron County; born, April 23, 1838 in Grove Township, Cameron County, Pa.; farmer; engaged, lumber business; proprietor, Sinnamahoning House, hotel (1871-1900); elected as a Democrat to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 1883 term; unsuccessful campaign for reelection to the House (1884); died, March 13, 1900 in Sinnemahoning, Cameron County, Pennsylvania; interred, Jericho Cemetery, Sinnemahoning, Cameron County, Pennsylvania.
