MILLER, Charles, a Representative from Snyder County; born, March 2, 1843 in Penn Township, Union County (now Snyder County), Pa.; attended, Missionary Institute (now Susquehanna University); served, Company D, 12th Regiment; Company H, 15th Regiment, and Company D, 18th Regiment, United States Army Infantry (1861-1862, Civil War); farmer; school director, Salem, Pa.; auditor, Penn Township; postmaster, United States Postal Service, Salem; elected, delegate, Republican State Convention (1876, 1884); elected as a Republican to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 1877, 1878, 1879 and the 1883 terms; died, December 9, 1910 in Penn Township, Snyder County, Pennsylvania; interred, Salem Lutheran Cemetery, Salem, Snyder County, Pennsylvania
