McCLARRAN, Robert Marshall, a Representative from Allegheny County; born, January 5, 1840 in Blairsville, Indiana County, Pa.; hospital steward, Company I, 2nd Battalion, Pennsylvania Volunteer Infantry (1863-1864, Civil War); printer; partner, McClarran and McKennan’s Drug Store; elected, select council, Pittsburgh; appointed, board of health, Pittsburgh; elected as a Republican to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives in 1880 and 1882; unsuccessful campaign for reelection to the House (1884); died, December 27, 1884 in Pittsburgh, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania; interred, Oakland Cemetery and Mausoleum, Indiana, Indiana County, Pennsylvania.
