HOOVER, Ephraim S., a Representative from Lancaster County; born, December 3, 1835 in Lancaster, Lancaster County, Pa.; attended White Hall Academy; attended, Millersville State Normal School (now Millersville University of Pennsylvania); teacher; farmer; engaged in insurance business; tobacco leaf dealer; elected to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives as a Republican in 1882; not a candidate for reelection to the House (1884); member, State Board of Agriculture; lecturer; trustee, Millersville State Normal School; died, June 11, 1910 in Manheim, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania; interred, Salem Evangelical Lutheran Church Cemetery, Lititz, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania.
