HIMMELREICH, Samuel Henry, a Representative from Union County; born, August 19, 1840 in Kelly Township, Union County, Pa.; captain, Company D, 150th Regiment, “Bucktails,” Pennsylvania Volunteer Infantry (1862-1865, Civil War); farmer; engaged, mercantile business; elected, auditor, Buffalo Township, Union County (1874); elected, sheriff, Union County (1880-1882); elected as a Democrat to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives in 1882; not a candidate for reelection to the House (1884); unsuccessful campaign, Pennsylvania State Senate (1884, 1900); engaged, lumber business; died, April 20, 1901 in Lewisburg, Union County, Pennsylvania; interred, Lewisburg Hill Cemetery, Lewisburg, Union County, Pennsylvania.
