GRIER, John L., a Representative from Franklin County; born, June of 1835 in Guilford Township, Franklin County, Pa.; attended, Chambersburg Academy; engaged in coal business; elected, burgess, Chambersburg; elected, treasurer, Franklin County (1879-1882); elected to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives as a Democrat in 1882; unsuccessful campaign for reelection to the House (1884); elected, tax collector, Franklin County; died, February 25, 1912; interred, Falling Spring Church Graveyard, Chambersburg, Franklin County, Pennsylvania.
