DEVENEY, Jacob Caslow, a Representative from York County; born, November 17, 1848 in Springfield Township, York County, Pa.; teacher; elected, assessor and justice of the peace, Springfield Township; elected to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives as a Democrat in 1880 and 1882; not a candidate for reelection to the House (1884); farmer; died, July 2, 1928 in Seven Valleys, York County, Pennsylvania; interred, Friedensaal Lutheran Church Cemetery, Seven Valleys, York County, Pennsylvania.
