BURCHFIELD, Theodore, a Representative from Blair County; born, July 21, 1842 in Juniata County, Pa.; private, Company F, 126th Regiment, Pennsylvania Volunteer Infantry (1862-1863, Civil War); corporal, Company K, 196th Regiment, Pennsylvania Volunteer Infantry (1864, Civil War); colonel, 5th Regiment, Pennsylvania National Guard (1871-1898; 1898, Spanish-American War); printing foreman, Altoona Tribune; elected to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives as a Republican in 1880 and 1882; not a candidate for reelection to the House (1884); elected, mayor, Altoona (1890-1893); unsuccessful campaign, mayor, Altoona (1899); watchman, Pennsylvania State Library (1902-1920); died, May 28, 1923 in Altoona, Blair County, Pennsylvania; interred, Fairview Cemetery, Altoona, Blair County, Pennsylvania.
