BROWN, William C., a Representative from Indiana County; born, March 31, 1831 in East Mahoning Township, Indiana County, Pa.; captain, Company C, 206th Regiment, Pennsylvania Volunteer Infantry (1864-1865, Civil War); farmer; elected, sheriff, Indiana County (1876-1878); elected as a Republican to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 1881 and 1883 terms; not a candidate for reelection to the House for the 1885 term; engaged, lumber business; died, July 20, 1898 in Punxsutawney, Jefferson County, Pennsylvania; interred, Circle Hill Cemetery, Punxsutawney, Jefferson County, Pennsylvania.
