WILLIAMS, Charles, a Representative from York County; born, June 18, 1840 in York County, Pa.; corporal, Company C, 166th Regiment, Pennsylvania Volunteer Infantry (1862-1863, Civil War); butcher (3 years); proprietor, general store; farmer; elected, school director, Monaghan Township (3 years) and Carroll Township (6 years); elected to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives as a Democrat in 1884; not a candidate for reelection to the House (1886); died, February 18, 1910 in Carroll Township, York County, Pennsylvania; interred, Fileys Christ Lutheran Church Cemetery, Dillsburg, York County, Pennsylvania.
