VOEGTLY, III, Nicholas H., a Representative from Allegheny County; born, November 24, 1834 in Allegheny City, Allegheny County, Pa; attended, Iron City Commercial College of Pittsburgh (now Duff’s Business Institute); lithographer; engaged, flour and grain businesses; engaged, lumbering business; elected, selected and city council, Allegheny City (1867-1871, 1873-1879); elected to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives as a Republican in 1878, 1880, 1882, and 1884; not a candidate for reelection to the House (1886); interim mayor, Allegheny City (1892); died, August 18, 1893 in Allegheny City, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania; interred, Mount Royal Cemetery, Glenshaw, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania.
