NEELY, Alfred Miller, a Representative from Clarion County; born, April 23, 1849 in St. Petersburg, Clarion County, Pa.; attended, Edinboro State Normal School (now Pennsylvania Western University, Edinboro); school teacher; engaged, oil, coal and lumbering; proprietor, Neely Brothers, and A. M. Neely & Co., general merchandise stores; elected as a Democrat to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 1883 and 1885 terms; not a candidate for reelection to the House for the 1887 term; elected, Pennsylvania State Senate (1899-1903); postmaster, United States Postal Service, Alum Rock, Pa. (1903); died, January 6, 1907 in Alum Rock, Clarion County, Pennsylvania; interred, Saint Petersburg Cemetery, Saint Petersburg, Clarion County, Pennsylvania.
