MAGEE, Henry Coffin, a Representative from Lackawanna and Luzerne Counties; born, February 6, 1848 in Carroll Township, Perry County, Pa.; attended, Bloomsburg State Normal School (now Bloomsburg State University of Pennsylvania), 1870; teacher (1870-1876); school principal; secretary, Teachers’ Institute of Luzerne County; attorney-at-law (1875-1888); elected, burgess, Plymouth (1881-1882); elected as a Republican to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives in 1884; unsuccessful campaign for reelection to the House (1886); died, April 27, 1888 in Plymouth, Luzerne County, Pennsylvania; interred, Union Cemetery, New Bloomfield, Perry County, Pennsylvania.
