HACKETT, Elymus, a Representative from Potter County; born, April 8, 1822 in Broome County, NY; corporal, Company F, 210th Regiment, Pennsylvania Volunteer Infantry (1864-1865, Civil War); farmer; lumberer; United States Patent holder, Improvement in Water Wheels (1873); proprietor, mercantile business; elected as a Republican to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives in 1884; not a candidate for reelection to the House (1886); unsuccessful campaign, judge, Potter County (1895); died, August 2, 1915 in Orting, Pierce County, Washington; interred, Washington Soldiers Home Cemetery, Orting, Pierce County, Washington.
