EVANS, Pennell Coombe, a Representative from Northampton County; born, May 31, 1848 in Easton, Northampton County, Pa.; attended, Millersville State Normal School (now Millersville University of Pennsylvania); A.M., Lafayette College; attorney-at-law (1876-1919); elected as a Democrat to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives in 1882 and 1884; not a candidate for reelection to the House (1886); postmaster, United States Postal Service, Easton, Pa. (1894-1898); unsuccessful campaign, judge, Pennsylvania Court of Common Pleas, Northampton County (1907); unsuccessful campaign, United States Congress (1914); died, March 18, 1919 in Easton, Northampton County, Pennsylvania; interred, Easton Cemetery, Easton, Northampton County, Pennsylvania.
