CLAYTON, James H., a Representative from Franklin County; born, February 14, 1828 in Waynesboro, Franklin County, Pa.; farmer; director, First National Bank of Waynesboro (1863-1865); elected, director of the poor, Franklin County (3 years); elected to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives as a Republican in a Special Election on November 6, 1883; Sworn-In on November 12, 1883; reelected to the House (1884); not a candidate for reelection to the House (1886); died, March 3, 1892 in Waynesboro in Franklin County, Pennsylvania; interred, Burns Hill Cemetery, Waynesboro, Franklin County, Pennsylvania.
