BARTON, William, a Representative from Allegheny County; born in Fladley Township, Allegheny County, Pa., October 3, 1839; private, Company D, 149th Regiment, "Bucktails," Pennsylvania Volunteer Infantry (1862-1865, Civil War); private, 14th Regiment, Pennsylvania National Guard; dairy farmer; justice of the peace; school director, Fladley Township; elected as a Republican to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 1885 term; not a candidate for reelection to the House (1886); elected, road supervisor, Fladley Township (1887-1897); died, March 26, 1897 in Pittsburgh, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania; interred, Hopewell-Hebron Cemetery, Clinton, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania.
