WOODWARD, John Apollos, a Representative from Centre County; born, March 31, 1841 at Wysox, Bradford County, Pa.; attended, Dickinson Seminary (now Lycoming College); apprentice, Lycoming Gazette; engaged in railroad and manufacturing enterprises; farmer; associate editor, Farm Journal; elected to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives as a Democrat in 1884 and 1886; not a candidate for reelection to the House (1888); died, July 11, 1922 in Howard, Centre County, Pennsylvania; interred, Wildwood Cemetery, Williamsport, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania.
