BARCLAY, George Austin, a Representative from Cameron County; born, April 7, 1817 in Owego, Tioga County, NY; language interpreter and fur trader, John Jacob Astor Company; engaged, real estate; proprietor, mill and lumber business, Barclay Bros.; farmer; elected as a Republican to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 1885 term; seated as a Republican to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives in the 1887 term as a result of contested election, May 10, 1887; not a candidate for reelection to the House (1888); died, November 25, 1900 in Sinnamahoning, Cameron County, Pennsylvania; interred, Wyside Cemetery, Sinnemahoning, Cameron County, Pennsylvania.
