TUTON, Edmund M., a Representative from Bradford County; born, October 16, 1844 in Belfast, County Down, Ireland; private, Company E, 10th Regiment, New York Volunteer Cavalry (1863-1865, Civil War); farmer; engaged, mercantile business (1868-1876); proprietor, Craig & Tuton, mercantile store (1876-1916); elected as a Republican to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives in 1886; not a candidate for reelection to the House (1888); unsuccessful campaign for reelection to the House (1906); died, June 16, 1921 in Ridgebury, Bradford County, Pennsylvania; interred, Woodlawn Cemetery, Elmira, Chemung County, New York.
