THOMAS, Evan Wilkinson, a Representative from Schuylkill County; born, April 30, 1848 in Pine Grove, Schuylkill County, Pa.; attended, McAllisterville Academy, Pa.; attended, Millersville State Normal School (now Millersville University of Pennsylvania); attended, Keystone State Normal School (now Kutztown University of Pennsylvania); private, Company C, 161st Regiment, 16th Pennsylvania Volunteer Cavalry (1865, Civil War); teacher (7 years); engaged, mercantile business; elected as a Republican to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives in 1884 and 1886; not a candidate for reelection to the House (1888); died, April 2, 1889 in Cressona, Schuylkill County, Pennsylvania; interred, Cressona Cemetery, Cressona, Schuylkill County, Pennsylvania.
