MARTIN, Joseph S., A Representative from Juniata County; born in Schuylkill County, Pa., December 26, 1842; educated in the common schools; private, Company I, 126th Regiment, Pennsylvania Volunteer Infantry (1862-1863, Civil War); elected as Republican to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 1887 term; not a candidate for reelection to the House for the 1889 term; foreman, spike mill, Dilworth Porter & Co. plant, Pittsburgh; died, February 7, 1915 in Sharpsburg, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania; interred, Westminster Presbyterian Cemetery, Mifflintown, Juniata County, Pennsylvania.
