HEEBNER, William Derstine, a Representative from Montgomery County; born, September 27, 1848 in Norriton Township, Montgomery County, Pa.; apprentice, machinist (7 years); proprietor, Heebner Brothers, machinists; proprietor, Heebner and Sons, manufacturers of railway power, threshers, and agricultural implements; United States Patent holder, Improvement in Horse Power (1871); proprietor, Heebner Agricultural Works; stockholder, Lansdale Water Company; stockholder, Lansdale Electric Light Company; chief burgess, Lansdale (1882-1884); elected to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives as a Republican in 1884 and 1886; not a candidate for reelection to the House (1888); unsuccessful campaign, Pennsylvania State Senate (1890); chair, draft board (World War I); proprietor, orange groves and pineapple plantations, Florida; died, February 23, 1933 in Orange City, Volusia County, Florida; interred, Lansdale Cemetery, Lansdale, Montgomery County, Pennsylvania.
