HECKMAN, William B., a Representative from Bradford County; born, November 20, 1847 in Easton, Northampton County, Pa.; private, Company K, 38th Regiment, Pennsylvania Emergency Militia (1863, Civil War); railway engineer, Lehigh Valley Railroad Company; elected as a Republican to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives in 1886; not a candidate for reelection to the House (1888); appointed, sealer of weights and measures, Buffalo, NY (1895-1896); died, February 13, 1897 in Buffalo, Erie County, New York; interred, Easton Cemetery, Easton, Northampton County, Pennsylvania.
