FLICKINGER, Junius Rudy, a Representative from Perry County; born in Bixler, Perry County,  Pa., October 19, 1854; attended, Bloomfield Academy; A.B, and A.M., Princeton College (now Princeton University), 1877; D.Sc., Bucknell University; D.Sc., University of Pennsylvania, 1895; principal, Bloomfield Academy (1877-1881); superintendent, Perry County schools (1882); lawyer (1885-1912); elected as a Republican to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 1887 term; not a candidate for reelection to the House (1888); organizer and trustee, Colorado State Normal School (University of Northern Colorado); elected, Colorado House of Representatives (1891-1892); history professor, West Chester Normal School (West Chester University of Pennsylvania), (1893-1894); principal, Northwest State Normal School (now Pennsylvania Western University), (1896-1898); principal, Central State Normal School (now Commonwealth University of Pennsylvania), (1899-1912); died, February 17, 1912, in Lock Haven, Clinton County, Pennsylvania; interred, Bloomfield Cemetery, New Bloomfield, Perry County, Pennsylvania.
