EVANS, David M., a Representative from Lackawanna and Luzerne Counties; born, March 4, 1861 in Frostburg, Allegany County, Md.; attended, Chester Springs Soldiers’ Orphan School; miner; elected as a Democrat to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives in 1886; unsuccessful campaign for reelection to the House (1888, 1898); foreman, Clear Spring Coal Company; foreman, Alabama Ore Company; died, January 12, 1936 in Wilkes-Barre, Luzerne County, Pennsylvania; interred, Dunmore Cemetery, Dunmore, Lackawanna County, Pennsylvania.
